MIDDLETOWN — Support is pouring in after two women died in a house fire Saturday morning. It happened in a home at 309 Barbara Road on Feb. 28.
Fire broke out towards the middle of the ranch-style house and quickly over took the house. Middletown’s fire chief says there was heavy smoke throughout and the two women were found in a front bedroom.
A Go-Fund-Me page has already raised more than $9,000 for the Micale family. Cheryl Micale, a mother and wife, along with another woman, died in the blaze. The second victim has not been identified yet.
The state fire marshal’s office is still investigating the cause of the fire. Neighbors tell Fox CT Cheryl’s son was likely at his grandparents house the night of the fire. His father was able to escape.
