Crews respond to house fire in Vernon

VERNON – Firefighters and police responded to the report of a structure fire at 39 Rambling Road around 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 7.

The fire was extinguished with the assistance of area fire departments, but the fire caused extensive damage and the home has been deemed uninhabitable.

The family was home at the time of the fire, but escaped without injury and the Red Cross is working with them.

The Vernon Fire Marshal and Vernon Police Detectives are investigating the cause and origin of this fire.
