Tsarnaev Trial – March 9

BOSTON — Jurors in the trial of Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev have been shown photographs of a handwritten note inside the boat he was captured in days after the bombings.

The note was written in pencil on the boat’s walls. The photos show long lines of blood running down the note and multiple bullet holes.

In the note, Tsarnaev wrote that the U.S. government “is killing our innocent civilians” and “As a Muslim I can’t stand to see such evil go unpunished.”

During cross-examination of a Boston police officer who described finding the writing, Tsarnaev’s lawyer established that all the bullet holes were from shots coming into the boat from the outside. The officer said no bombs, guns or weapons of any kind were found inside the boat.
