MIDDLETOWN - It's part soccer, part football, part pinball and all fun. You aren't exactly styling wrapped in a giant transparent plastic orb but that's part of the game called "Knockerball" aka bubble soccer. The Advanced Sportsplex in Middletown began offering Knockerball events a few months ago. "It's a big old ball and you get inside it, strap up and just go at it," said Reggie White who runs Knockerball CT.

While the sport might look totally ridiculous, it is a good workout. Sean Morrissey, who operates Knockerball Hartford said, "it takes a lot of stamina out of you, believe me."

The goals are smaller but, of course, the collisions are much bigger as players channel their soccer skills with their inner sumo.  Alex Parkos, a senior at Xavier High School said "it's a lot of fun hitting each other and playing soccer and it's a good workout."
