WALLINGFORD–Police are investigating a string of robberies at establishments owned by Asian-run businesses.

On March 17 four businesses in town were robbed between 4 a.m. and 5:45 a.m.

The suspect or suspects forced entry to the businesses through front glass doors or by shattering small lower glass windows.

The suspects went straight for the cash register at all four locations, which include:

  • New Beauty Nail & Spa, located at 970 North Colony Rd.
  • Vogue Nail Salon, located at 20 Ives Rd.
  • Pho Ethan Restaurant, located at 1145 North Colony Rd.
  • China King Restaurant, located at 159 North Colony Rd.

The suspect is described as either white or Hispanic, skinny, and he was wearing latex-dipped gloves, a hoodie and a white v-neck t-shirt.

Fox CT asked the Wallingford Police why it took three weeks for information on these crimes to be released. We were told that the case officer has been following up on many leads regarding the identity of the suspect. The officer was concerned that the suspect lives locally, and that any media would alert him and cause him to flee or destroy evidence.

The detective has run out of leads and would like the public’s help in solving these crimes. If you have any information you can email Detective Sean Houlihan at shoulihan@wallingfordpd.org or call 203-294-2844.
