Sexual assault suspect apprehended by Norwich police

BALTIC – Greg G. Butts, 44, was apprehended on Saturday, April 11 by members of the Norwich Police Department.  He was wanted by the Connecticut State Police for the the sexual assault of a juvenile female, and they have been searching for him since the incident occurred on March 28.

Police were conducting patrol checks on Friday, April 10 in a Holiday Inn parking lot in Norwich is spotted the accused vehicle, a black 2015 Mazda 5 unoccupied in the lot.  They maintained surveillance on the vehicle until Butts returned to the vehicle the next morning at 8:30 a.m.

Butts was transferred into the custody of the Connecticut State Police. Members of the City of Norwich Police Department, the Connecticut State Police and Parole worked extensively to apprehend Butts.
