The incident occurred at a home on Bradley Avenue. The entire neighborhood was surrounded, and officers had their weapons drawn for quite some time as police tried to talk the man out of the home. Tyron Clemmons, 38, had a fight with his mother. She feared for her safety and called police.
Around 8:30 p.m. Clemmons stepped outside of the home, still armed with a knife, and was taken down after officers fired a Taser and a bean bags. Officers say Clemmons pleaded with officers to shoot him during the five hours of negotiations.
He was taken into custody and sent to a local hospital.
