Section of Route 30 reopens in Vernon after motorcycle accident

VERNON – Emergency crews are responding to a motorcycle accident that happened around 7 a.m.

Vernon police said the accident is on Route 30 by Lafayette Square near the intersection of Rt. 31.  Route 30 was closed in the area, which is near the Tolland town line, but has since reopened.

Traffic on Route 31 was unaffected. Route 30 traffic was being detoured through the shopping plaza.

Life Star was called to the scene to transport the victim.

An accident in the same location claimed the life of Kathleen Jasak, 58 in July, 2014. Robert Maly, 66 of Manchester, was charged with negligent homicide and other motor vehicle violations in that case.
