HARTFORD – The state Judicial Branch is warning people of phony emails that say they come from “state court” and order the recipient to appear in court for a hearing.

These emails may carry a virus and recipients should not open any attachment if they receive such an email.

Officials posted an alert on the Judicial Branch website alerting anyone who received a suspicious email regarding a court case, matter or hearing of which they are unaware, to contact the Judicial Branch help desk at 860-282-6555.
