Blumenthal discusses new ban on smoking in New Haven
NEW HAVEN – It may soon be a little harder for smokers to light up in the Elm City.
The New Haven Board of Alders is expected to vote on a measure that would prohibit tobacco and e-cigarette use in city buildings, parks, beaches and school grounds.
On Friday, Senator Richard Blumenthal joined Mayor Tony Harp to talk about restricting tobacco – the leading cause of preventable death in America.
In a recent survey of New Haven smokers, 64 percent say they want to quit but have so far been unsuccessful.
