LAKEVILLE-- They've kept the gear the same, but it's the temperature that's changed.

Coming off a successful winter autocross season, Lime Rock Park is offering drivers the chance to bring their own cars and experience the low-gear thrill of summer autocross. "As long as they have a license or learners permit they can come to Lime Rock Park and drive our min race track," said Rick Roso, the marketing director at Lime Rock.

Roso says it might quite a ride, but the lessons learned help drivers with street smarts. "We will coach you to be a better, safer, faster driver."

Marlo Herrick, from West Hartford, arrived with her Audi TT convertible ready to roll. After a few twisting and winding laps with instruction, she said,"I've never done this , this was my first day out and it was so much fun."

Robin Heath of Westport brought his Aston Martin Vantage and said, "If you have a car like this you might as well play with it."

The summer autocross series at Lime Rock runs various dates through the spring and summer months and costs $225 per driver. The coaching sessions usually last about 4 hours. To find out more click here.
