WOLCOTT – Police in Wolcott posted a warning about a phone scam to their facebook page Thursday afternoon.

“Once again another scam has come to town,” police said.

They say the caller has an Indian accent and says he is with Microsoft. He tells the person on the other line that he noticed a problem with their computer. The callers says he will help you, if you “press the windows key and hit R twice” and then do what the screen says.

Police say you should hang up right away if you receive this call. Police say Microsoft will never call your house. If you get a similar call, just hang up.

The caller ID from one such call came from New York, police said.
