WEST HAVEN — A woman, believed to be in her 40s, was shot in the face coming out of Kelly’s bar on Campbell Avenue near the corner of Noble Street early Sunday, just before 3 a.m.
According to police, the woman is in an area hospital in stable condition.
A male suspect is in custody, but detectives are actively working this investigation, gathering evidence to figure out a motive and how events unfolded.
Reportedly, the man had a confrontation with the victim earlier inside of Kelly’s Bar and shot her as she exited.
Police said a shotgun is believed to be the weapon and at least two shots were fired.
