‘The Simpsons’ renewed for 2 more seasons

HARTFORD – The Simpsons was recently renewed for two more seasons, bringing its total number of episodes to 625.

Throughout the years, a key point in every Simpsons episode has been the couch gag in the beginning.  While largely the same each episode, it has varied over the last twenty-five years, and occasionally has a completely different type of gag in honor of a cultural or political event happening in real time.

Tonight, during an all-new Simpsons at 8 p.m., an all- new couch gag will be presented, in honor of the FIFA Women’s World Cup. FOX Sports coverage of the Women’s World Cup begins on Saturday, June 6.
