HARTFORD–It’s annual Iced Coffee Day at Dunkin’ Donuts, and an event will kick off the fundraising day at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
Iced Coffee Day is celebrated by shops statewide, excluding Fairfield County, and is a way to help local hospitals raise money. On Wednesday, May 20 $1 per cup of iced coffee sold, of any size, will be donated to CCMC and Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital. Proceeds will be split evenly between the two hospitals.
“Connecticut Children’s is grateful to the customers, employees and franchisees of Dunkin’ Donuts for their incredible generosity,” said Doreen Tarascio, vice president of donor relations at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center Foundation. “Through the many Dunkin’ Donuts programs, we are able to increase awareness of the exceptional care that is provided each day at Connecticut Children’s while raising funds that help give children the care they deserve.”
The partnership between Dunkin’ and CCMC began in 2007, and in 2014 the two reached a $1 million milestone through fundraising efforts from previous Iced Coffee Days and other annual events.
“We are proud to partner with Connecticut Children’s Medical Center once again, and excited to partner with Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital for the first time in this market,” stated Michael Batista, Dunkin’ Donuts Franchisee. “Both are such important institutions, caring for the children in our state. We hope this Iced Coffee Day partnership will give both our guests and the children and families served by these great hospitals the boost they need.”
This year will mark Dunkin’ Donuts’ first partnership with Yale-New Haven as a way to increase the aid going to those in need.
