Police make arrest in April homicide in Meriden

MERIDEN – Police have made an arrest in a homicide that occurred on April 4 in Meriden. Victor Nina, 32, was shot and killed at the Huntington Place Apartments on Cook Avenue.

Tuesday, police announced they have arrested Esteban Jimenez, 68, and charged him with the crime. Jimenez lives in the apartment complex in which the homicide occurred.

Police say Jimenez turned himself into the department on Monday, June 1. He is charged with manslaughter first degree with a firearm, tampering with physical evidence, reckless endangerment, unlawful discharge, and carrying a pistol without a permit.

He is being held on $100,000 bond and is due in court June 9.
