ANDOVER – A driver has died after a wild crash on Route 6 in Andover Thursday afternoon.

State Police say they were trying to stop Ronald Utman, 64 from Farmington, around 1:25 p.m., when he entered a marked, coned off construction zone and struck several barrels. The Trooper tried to pull him over but the driver kept going.

Then, Utman continued eastbound on Route 6 before traveling off the right shoulder and over an embankment into a brook.

Troopers retrieved Utman from the water.  He was found to have serious injuries and Lifestar was called to the scene. Utman later died from his injuries.

The State Police CARS Unit responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. A trooper suffered a minor injury, but was released quickly from the hospital after being evaluated.
