LOS ANGELES – “You can’t do this!”
Probably not what Joseph was hoping to hear when he proposed to his girlfriend of about two years. A man who self-admittedly isn’t good at planning thought he had come up with a great plan — a proposal that mimics their first date.
The only problem is that their first date was at McDonald’s.
“She joked for months about how 10 years down the road I would probably propose to her in a chicken nugget box so I thought she would love when I surprised her this way,” Joseph wrote on YouTube. He even got her father involved and installed the camera in his car to capture the special moment.
He thought wrong. After some laughing, then crying, then laughing and crying she finally spoke.
“You can’t ask me to marry you on a chicken sandwich!”
More laughing. More crying.
“You just asked me on a bun.”
But the story ending isn’t all bad. The couple is still dating but “agreed to wait longer until it’s time to get engaged.”
