MILFORD — Police investigating a threat involving West Shore Middle School have determined the threat is non-credible and the source is not local. School will resume Thursday as usual.

Police are continuing to investigate the threat that closed school Wednesday June 10.

Police said the call to close was made by Dr. Elizabeth Feser, the superintendent and they supported the decision. Police provided increased security presence at other schools in town.

Parents were alerted Tuesday night via email and phone message.

As for the threat itself, police are not talking about what exactly was said or the nature of it. Parents tell Fox CT that it was made on a social media app.

This is the text of what parents got from the school district:

Good evening, this is Dr. Feser, Superintendent of Schools. I sincerely apologize for calling so late,
however I am calling to inform you that West Shore Middle School will be closed tomorrow Wednesday,
June 10, 2015. This evening the Milford Police Department learned of a threat to West Shore School.
The Police believe that it is a low credibility threat. However, law enforcement is working diligently and
aggressively to determine the origin of the threat and its credibility.
After consulting with the police we believe that the prudent decision is to close school tomorrow to
allow the police department the time that they need to assure the safety and security of everyone at the
school. We will update you tomorrow as appropriate. Take care.
