STRATFORD--A community gathered on Thursday night to remember two children who were tragically found dead in an East Haven home last week.

Daaron, 7, and Aleisha, 6, were found in their mother's Strong Street home in what appears to have been a gas leak. Their mother, LeRoya Moore, who has been charged with their murders, told police when they arrived on the scene that she intentionally turned the gas on. However, the cause of death is pending the results of a toxicology report.

On Thursday more than 100 people gathered at the Stratford Hotel to support the kids' father, Michael Moore, who says he's been relying on his faith to make it through this extremely difficult time. "Since all this has happened He has put a lot of good people in front of me and a lot of love shown, especially even people that have never met my kids. Just to know that there's this type of love out there is very reassuring."

Admission to the event was $5, but many donated a lot more than that.
