NEW HAVEN--A new program is being launched in New Haven in an attempt to improve relations between police officers and city kids.

Live-Kind is partnering with the Police Activities League's summer camp to create more summer programs for kids. The hope is that it will help eliminate the bias towards local police, and that the kids will bring the positive attitude with them to school.

The camp also provides free meals, a variety of physical activities, encouragement to read more.

More than 300 campers are expected to participate this year when the program kicks off at the end of the month.
