TRUMBULL — Police chased a stolen vehicle through several Connecticut towns at reported speeds of 100 mph until it ended with a crash on the Merritt Turnpike and the suspect in custody.

State police say the chase ended Tuesday morning after the car and a Trumbull police cruiser crashed on the turnpike in Trumbull. No one was injured. The stolen car also collided with another vehicle on the turnpike before the final accident.

Police haven’t released the suspect’s name. The car was reported stolen in Westchester County, New York.

Authorities told the Connecticut Post that the chase went through local streets and state highways including Interstate 95 in Westport, Fairfield, Bridgeport, Stratford and Trumbull. State police say they initially tried to stop the car in Norwalk.
