Mass. State Police ask for help to identify toddler found dead on Deer Island

WINTHROP, Mass.–Have you seen this child?

Massachusetts State Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a toddler-aged girl, whose body turned up on the western shore of Deer Island in Winthrop on June 25.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children created a computer-generated image of what the girl would look like in an effort to help police identify the girl. They say she was about 4 years old when she died.

In addition, police released images of her leggings, which were very distinct–they are white with black polka dots. She was also found with a black and white zebra-stripe blanket.

The girl is described as having brown hair and brown eyes, she weighed about 30 pounds and was about 3.5 feet tall.

If you know of any young girls who have gone missing or haven’t shown up for events or camp, or if you recognize the image, please call state police at 508-820-2121, or the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit at 617-727-8817, or the Winthrop Police at 617-539-5806.
