MONROE, MI — Future CBS late show host Stephen Colbert filled in as host of “Only in Monroe”– an actual public access TV talk show in Monroe, Michigan. It’s a small town with a population just over 20,000 people.

The full 40 minute show went online Wednesday entitled “July 2015.”

It’s a mix of jokes about small town public access TV and Colbert’s normal wit. He introduced his guest—15-time Grammy award winning rapper Eminem—as “A local Michigander who is making a name for himself in the competitive world of music.”

At times Colbert even pauses for an audience to laugh, even though there’s no audience.

Colbert’s late show begins on Sept. 8 and some TV critics say they hope these antics are a sign of what’s to come from the new program.
