HAMDEN - As temperatures rise, a retired Hartford police officer is trying to bring awareness to the epidemic of children being left in hot cars.
Roberto Alfaro has invented a hook and calls it the "Hooked on Baby" device.
The device hooks onto a child's car seat and then hooks onto anything from a purse to a belt loop to a laptop bag.
It extends to different lengths, eventually stopping to remind parents to take their children out of the car.
