Hartford’s Riverfest kicks off with food, fireworks, music and movies

HARTFORD - A feast for your senses is coming this weekend as the 36th annual Riverfest celebration kicks off Thursday on the Connecticut River.

For your taste buds, food trucks from all over the area will be on site Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday & Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

For your eyes, the big  fireworks show will start Saturday, at 9 p.m. with a rain date of Sunday.

Fireworks displays around Connecticut this summer

For your ears, bands, movies and DJs will provide entertainment starting midday, Thursday.

The movie 'Chef,' about a man and his food truck, will be shown Friday evening after sundown.

Parking will be available at the Science Center/Riverfront Garage, 250 Columbus Blvd., the CT Convention Center Garage, 100 Columbus Blvd, (only for Handicap Access), and the Constitution Plaza Garage, 109 Constitution Plaza.

The Dash shuttle will operate extra hours. On Thursday, service will run from 7 a.m. to midnight. Friday, the shuttle will operate starting at 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.  And on Saturday, July 11 service will go from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.
