Three teen girls arrested for stabbing fourth teen girl at Shelton house party
SHELTON–Several arrests have been made after a teen girl was stabbed at a party in May.
On May 2, just after midnight, St. Vincent’s Medical Center contacted Shelton Police to report a woman had arrived who had been stabbed after a fight broke out at a party.
The girl was treated for a laceration to her head and a stab wound to her back.
An investigation revealed that the fight was between two woman, and that several party goers jumped in. According to police, the girl who was stabbed wasn’t an innocent bystander, but it is unclear how she was involved.
Merita Rugova, 18, of Shelton, was arrested and charged with aiding and abetting assault in the second degree, assault in the third degree and breach of peace in the second degree. She was released on a $5,000 bond and is due in court July 21.
A second female, a 17-year-old minor from West Haven, was also arrested and charged with assault in the second degree, conspiracy to commit assault in the second degree and breach of peace in the second degree. It is believed that the 17-year-old stabbed the victim.
A third female, another 17-year-old minor from Shelton, was arrested as well and charged with assault in the third degree and breach of peace in the second degree.
Lastly, Jeremy Thompson, 18, of Shelton, was arrested and charged with interfering with an officer. Police say he misled officers investigating the incident. He was released on a $1,000 bond and is due in court on July 21.
