WETHERSFIELD – State police arrested a woman they say made an untrue complaint of racial profiling when she was stopped for a traffic violation.

Minati Roychoudhuri, of Storrs, was stopped by a State Trooper on May 9 in Wethersfield and issued an infraction for an unsafe lane change.

Roychoudhuri complained to the Commissioner and said she was issued the ticket based upon illegal racial profiling. The Connecticut State Police Internal Affairs investigated and found the allegation to be false and the trooper was cleared on all charges.

Based on the complaint, a criminal investigation into the  allegations lead to an arrest warrant being issued for Roychoudhuri. Roychoudhuri was arrested on charges of making a false statement and will appear in court August 14.
