60 firefighters battle Hartford apartment fire, 3 injured

HARTFORD-Several fire departments responded to massive apartment fire late Monday night.

The fire started in a multi-unit apartment complex above the Grab and Go Convenience store on the corner of Park Street and Broad Street. Firefighters were able to get all of the residents out of the building.

A few residents were transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation and three firefighters were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Also, one resident was hurt after she fell while exiting the building. Thirteen families were displaced and were taken care of at the Pope Park Recreation Center.

The fire marshal is investigating. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
