SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – It was a close call when a huge tree limb smashed onto a car in Springfield, Mass. Thursday morning.
Police said a massive branch fell from a tree and struck the front engine of a car driven by a young mother who was traveling south on Roosevelt Avenue with her 2-year-old daughter.
“They are both very lucky to be alive,” said Sgt. John Delaney on Facebook.
Both were shaken up and brought to a local hospital for observation, according to police.
Another car traveling north was also struck but didn’t sustain as much damage.
