NEW BRITAIN – Police arrest a New Britain man in connection with a shooting incident in June.
Michael Pacheco-Rodriguez, 22, of New Britain, was charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder, Assault and Reckless Endangerment. He is being held on $750,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday. Pacheco-Rodriguez was taken into custody Thursday evening when police spotted him near the intersection of Short and Long Streets.
Police said Pacheco-Rodriguez was responsible for a shooting that injured a man on June 12 on Lawlor Street in New Britain. A man was found with gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital for treatment. He is expected to survive his injuries. Police said the suspect and the victim knew each other.
The arrest warrant was sealed.
