ABINGTON, Mass. — Two kids were found safe hours after the Abington, Massachusetts Police Department issued an Amber Alert. At the time, it was believed the children may have been kidnapped by their mother
The amber alert was issued at 3 p.m., and the children were found just before 4 p.m. They were found safe in a motel in Yarmouth. Police say the mother, Bruna Gomes, 33, was taken into custody.
At about 9 a.m., police responded to the report of a home invasion at 94 Walnut Street. Bruno Coelho, who called police, said the mother of his children, Bruna Gomes, sprayed pepper spray in his eyes when he opened the door to let her in, according to MyFoxBoston.
Gomes then pushed her way into the apartment and took the couple’s two children.
Police say the children are unharmed.
