WALLINGFORD — A Wallingford postal worker is recovering from serious injuries after he was run over by a truck.

Police said 52-year-old Glen Ford was walking in the parking lot of the Wallingford facility on Saturday afternoon when he was knocked down and run over by a truck trying to back up to a loading dock.

The truck backed into Ford, and ran over his midsection, police said. Ford was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

No charges have been filed against the truck driver, 46-year-old Joseph Gallo of West Haven, who remained at the scene.The truck was registered to a postal service contractor from East Haven, FMP Transport LLC.

Police haven’t filed charges at this time.

The U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration will conduct its own investigation.
