COLUMBUS, Miss. — A newlywed Mississippi couple is accused of planning a honeymoon overseas to join ISIS.

Police caught them right as they were boarding a flight to Turkey over the weekend.

A federal judge denied bond Tuesday for 20-year-old Jaelyn Young, 20, and Muhammad Dakhlalla, 22.

Court records show that they planned to fly to Turkey then cross into Syria to join the terrorist group.

Police say young couple wrote that their cover story would be that the trip was planned as a honeymoon.

The woman’s dad worked as a police officer for 17 years and is a navy veteran.

The man is the son of a Mississippi imam.
