SOUTH WINDSOR–A piece of history arrived in South Windsor on Thursday.
A chunk of steel from the September 11 attacks at the World Trade Center was delivered to the memorial at the South Windsor Fire Department. Police officers and firefighters from the town went to get the relic from the hanger at JFK airport in New York on Wednesday.
The dedication is part of Eric Hofmann’s Eagle Scout project; his brother previously built the garden at the fire house that the item will sit in for his own Eagle Scout project.
