NEW HAVEN–It seems like a never-ending project to many in New Haven, but local leaders are finally providing an update on the State Street Bridge porject.
It was supposed to cost $6 million, but six years later the price tag has reached $28 million.
The governor joined local leaders to lament the expense and time the project has taken.
“I’m not sure when they undertook it that they fully understood the level of pollution that had taken place along the banks of the Mill River in this immediate area,” Gov. Dan Malloy said.
