HAMDEN – The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and Hamden Fire Department fought a heavy brush fire in a wooded area west of Hill Street and North of Dunbar Hill Road Friday morning.
An area approximately 5-7 acres on the western side of the reservoir was found to be burning and the burning field, underbrush and root systems were extinguished.
The fire was declared under control just after 11 a.m. Hamden Fire Marshals were called to the scene to assist the state in investigating the origin and cause of the fire.
This area is frequented by day hikers and anyone who may have information about this fire is encouraged to contact Fire Marshal Brian Dolan at 203-407-3182.
