MIDDLETOWN–Police have identified the man who drowned in a quarry Wednesday afternoon.

Andrew Frizzen, 26, of Portland, died after drowning in the water off of Bow Lane, along the Jeep Trail.

A 911 call around 3:15 p.m. reported that a man had jumped from the quarry into the water and had not resurfaced. Dive teams from the Middletown Police Department, Middletown Fire Department and South Fire District all responded to search for Frizzen.

He was pulled from the water about an hour and 10 minutes after the initial call, and was unresponsive when he was found. He was taken to the hospital, and died from his injuries.
