Worcester man suspected of 3 bank robberies arrested

WORCESTER, Mass. — Police have arrested a man suspected of at least three bank robberies in Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Worcester police say 37-year-old Gjergji Cumani was arrested on a warrant for unarmed robbery at his home in the city on Friday morning.

Cumani was wanted in connection with the robbery Aug. 3 of a Country Bank branch in Worcester.

Police allege he entered the bank and passed a note to the teller demanding cash. The robber took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled.

Cumani is also wanted on warrants out of West Hartford, Connecticut, in connection bank robberies there on Aug. 6 and Aug. 13.

It’s not clear if Cumani has a lawyer.
