NEW YORK — Some new words are being added to the online edition of the Oxford Dictionary.

Several of them are common in pop culture, but just now making it into the dictionary. OxfordDictionaries.com issues quarterly updates with new words and definitions.

Among the dozens of new words or phrases added are “mic drop,” for dramatically ending performance, and “bants,” when banter is too long to write.

The word “awesome” has now evolved to include it’s own condiment — “Awesome sauce,” which means good or excellent, is now part of the dictionary.

Apparently the day is getting longer, now that “beer o’clock” and “wine o’clock,” have been added. The phrases, of course, refer to appropriate times to start drinking.

If a man spreads his legs wide on a bus or other public place, he would be “manspreading.”

You body now has a new function — A temporary mental lapse or failure to reason correctly would be a “brain fart.”

If you are bad-tempered or irritable as a result of hunger, you’re “hangry.” We all get a little hangry every now and then.
