WILLIMANTIC -Two brothers-in-law from Willimantic are due in court Monday after police arrested them in a stabbing over the weekend.

Police arrested two city residents after a domestic dispute on West Avenue which escalated with one brother-in-law stabbing another brother in-law in the chest.

The victim of the stabbing then attempted to run from the West Avenue housing complex where they lived to the nearby Windham Hospital Emergency Room after he was stabbed once in the upper chest.

He was quickly located within an elderly housing complex which is located between the two locations, where he was then transported to the emergency room by Willimantic Fire/Rescue with non-life threatening injuries.

Police arrived on scene of the domestic dispute and located the other brother in-law, Jose Sanchez, 23, who was then placed under arrest for the assault. He was transported back to Willimantic Police Headquarters where he was charged with first-degree and disorderly conduct. His bail was set at $75,000.

The victim of the stabbing, Robinson Acevedo, 24, was treated and later released from the hospital. He was also arrested and transported to city police headquarters and charged with threatening, disorderly conduct and third-degree assault. His bail was set at $10,000.
