AGAWAM, Mass. -- For 20 women from across New England, the message from Six Flags was you rock, or, perhaps, Rockwell.
For the second year in a row, Six Flags New England invited successful women in the community to dress up as the iconic Norman Rockwell character Rosie the Riveter and spend the day at the park.
The event is called the "Wicked Achievers," and the park hosted the female leaders and gave them a VIP ride on the new twisting, turning, super coaster known as the Wicked Cyclone.
"We have women representing Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont," said Jen McGrath, the communications director at Six Flags New England. "We're highlighting successful women that we feel are deserving of a special day."
After emerging from riding the Wicked Cyclone, Alysia Cutting, a director of marketing at the YMCA of Greater Springfield, said, "I got on the ride not knowing what to expect and I was in the front, it was a big drop -- bigger than I thought."
Dressed in her Rosie bandana, Dana Swinney, who owns her own media consulting agency, added, "I was screaming the whole time but it was fun, it was a good time!"
McGrath said that Six Flags will continue to honor women each Labor Day. "Tthese ladies have conquered so many different feats," she said. "It's just such a special day."
