EAST HARTFORD–A local library got a major makeover, and it has finally reopened.

The Raymond Library in East Hartford, located at 840 Main St., was closed for nearly a year and a half while it was expanded and renovated, a project that cost $9 million.

The building now has a larger children’s section, an expanded teen space and more technology, including 3-D printers.

A grand reopening celebration will be held on Saturday, September 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., but it is open to the public now. The library is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
