HARTFORD – One person was shot early Tuesday morning in Hartford.
Police confirm a man was shot in the stomach around 5:30 a.m. and taken to the hospital. Police said the victim is 51-years-old.
Police found him alert and conscious in front of 47 Sumner Street.
The man told police that he was taking out his trash when he heard two gun shots and ran to the rear of the apartment building for safety. That is when he discovered he was wounded.
The victim told police that he saw two males running from the area, but was not able to give a suspect description.
Police searched the area but did not find any suspects. They did find a blood trail from the rear of the house to a storm drain on the Sumner Street where they found a kitchen knife in laying in the water. but they are unsure if the kitchen knife was used in the incident.
