STORRS — The University of Connecticut women's basketball team is not quite finished celebrating their third straight national title.
The Huskies were honored — again — at the White House by President Barack Obama on Tuesday.
The White House event took place at noon in the East Room and is part of Obama's tradition of honoring sports teams for their efforts to give back to their communities.
The UConn women won the 2015 NCAA championship in April with a 63-53 win over Notre Dame.
It was their 10th title and also topped off Coach Geno Auriemma's 30th year at UConn.
At a celebration in Hartford in April, Connecticut's U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal joked that he was going to ask Obama, a basketball player, to rename the White House court for Auriemma.
