WATERBURY–Several homes were without water for about two hours on Thursday evening after a water main break.

The 8-inch break occurred late Thursday afternoon on Spring Lake Road, near the intersection with Pearl Lake Road. Spring Lake Road was washed out due to the leak. This is the area near the Gilmartin School.

The crew that repaired the water main said it was shutting off the water around 7 p.m. for customers on that line, which includes homes on Spring Lake Road, as well as Jersey Street and all of the streets leading off of it. The water was turned back on around 9:15 p.m., according to Mayor Neil O’Leary.

Spring Lake Road was closed while the repairs were made.

If you have an emergency, you can call the city’s Bureau of Water at 203-574-8251.
