HARTFORD–A fundraising event for Camp Courant was held on Friday night, and Fox CT’s own Erika Arias and Jimmy Altman were on hand to host.
The construction themed event was held because the camp is breaking ground on a new pool and renovating its pool house. The project will be done in time for next summer.
The new pool will cost the free summer camp about $1.5 million, but it’s more than 50 years old.
“There’s so much to celebrate,” said McKinley Albert, the executive director and CEO of Camp Courant. “We’ve got 400 people here tonight. I mean that’s absolutely insane. 13 restaurants, different breweries, different vineyards, all celebrating breaking ground on a new pool. Our pool’s been here since 1964 and we’re going to have a new one this year.”
