Dog found abandoned in dumpster behind Hamden Plaza

HAMDEN–Police are searching for the person responsible for abandoning a dog.

On September 22, Hamden Animal Control was called to the Hamden Plaza, located at 2100 Dixwell Ave., for reports of a roaming dog.

The investigation revealed that a female restaurant employee saw the abandoned pup in a dumpster when she was throwing out the trash.

The dog is a brown Staffordshire Terrier, and it was brought to the North Haven Animal Shelter.
