Juvenile arrested for East Hartford home invasion, sexual assault

EAST HARTFORD – A juvenile has been arrested after a home invasion and sexual assault on Collimore Road.

On Saturday at around 6:30 a.m. East Hartford responded to reports that a victim had been burglarized and then sexually assaulted. The victim said the suspect ran away from the scene.

The suspect was described as a teenager, black or Hispanic male, with dark hair, possibly wearing brown shorts and a maroon shirt. He also stole a registered .38 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun from the home.

The victim was treated and released from Saint Francis Hospital.

After an investigation by East Hartford police, a warrant was signed and served at Juvenile Court for first-degree criminal attempted murder, first-degree sexual assault, home invasion, first-degree assault, first-degree strangulation, first-degree unlawful restraint, theft of a firearm, and sixth-degree larceny.

The arrested juvenile is being held at Hartford Juvenile Detention.
