HARTFORD — Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is announcing dates for the state’s upcoming fall firearms hunting season.

The turkey season is scheduled to open on Oct. 3 and continue through Oct. 31, while the regular waterfowl season opens statewide on Oct. 7.

Small game hunting season opens at 7 a.m. on Oct. 17 for pheasant, quail, ruffed grouse, chukar partridge and cottontail rabbit. Meanwhile, the statewide firearms deer hunting season will begin on Nov. 18.

Hunters can purchase 2015 hunting licenses and permit directly online here or at many participating town halls, outdoor equipment stores and DEEP offices.
